Grandparent love

This weekend Otter's paternal "Grammy Jo" came to visit, but sadly had to leave very early on Sunday morning. When she was leaving, we explained to Otter that she had to go home, to HER home, to take care of her cat Loki--and we asked him if he remembered Loki.

So in the 24 hours since his grandmother left, Otter has repeated stopped in the midst of whatever he was doing, and said "Jo! Jo! Jo! Grammy Jo!" and then we say, " I know, you miss Grammy Jo; she had to go home." And Otter says "LO-KIIIIIIII!" loudly and mournfully.

Then ten minutes later he'll interrupt his play to say "Lo-ki.... Lo-KI... Lo-KIIIIIIII!" as apparent shorthand for "why can't everyone I love live within ten minutes of my home?"

I get that.
